Sony's E3 Line-Up Includes SPIDER-MAN PS4, GOD OF WAR, DAYS GONE And More

Ahead of E3, Shawn Layden, the president of Sony's American video game division has revealed what they're bringing to the annual video game expo.

Shawn Layden, head of Sony's gaming division has let some details slip about what they're brining to E3.  While we're sure they'll have some surprises, we now have a clearer picture of where the focus will be.  According to Layden, new information and footage for God of War, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Spider-Man PS4, Days Gone, and Gran Turismo Sport will all be showcased, with the spotlight shining brightest on God of War.

Layden also spoke at length about Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, which should be on display at E3 but might be showcased during a different panel.  "We’re partnering with him and financing development of Death Stranding. His team has taken the Decima engine that Guerrilla built for Horizon Zero Dawn and they’re using that as the base for Death Stranding."

"Both teams are working from a joint code base now and building on it. It’s kind of like a holy grail in game development. Some studios outside of my world have invoked that kind of discipline – ‘thou shalt all use this engine’ – but we’ve sort of left it to our studios to find the engine they need within the technologies that we have available.
"

While these games are considered confirmed, it remains to be seen what will actually be playable on the showroom floor.  As has often been the case in recent years, studios and developers roll out jaw-dropping cinematic trailers and tout interesting features but the actual gameplay and plot are severly lacking.
