Online card-based gaming seems to be the hotest and newest trend, and capitalizing off of this is Hi-Rez, the studio behind Smite. They have a new card-based game coming called Hand of The Gods: Smite Tactics which will let players duel it out with a heavy hand consisting of some truly powerful gods. And to mark the occasion that the new game is going into open beta, Hi-Rez is giving players the opportunity to purchase the Venus Competitors pack too, in a sense, "bolster the decks of new players and veterans alike," giving them 70 cards as well as a Venus skin for Aphrodite that can be used in Smite.

Another cool new thing coming from Hi-Rez is a brand spanking new game mechanic titled Project Olympus. Its sole purpose is to improve the game's core features, basically giving them a shot of adrenaline to spice things up. Chris Larson, the producer for Smite has stated that Project Olympus is "full of big changes that Smite fans have wanted for a long time." Some news things that are going to be rolled out in this update are a 64-bit client, updates to the hud, and a knowledge bank that allows players to improve their own experience.
